Elizabeth A. Abts (neé Miller) always has a camera by her side.  Originally from Baltimore, MD, she lives in Brooklyn, NY with her husband and grumpy cat, and has been working as a freelance photographer since 2006, shooting on and off for Alamy Images, Animatic Media, Photoshot and Sipa Press.  Elizabeth has a degree in English Literature from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR and graduated from the Documentary Photography and Photojournalism Program at the International Center of Photography in New York City in June 2006.  She spends her weekdays working as the Digital Photo Director for Us Weekly, and is also a member of the artistic collective her husband founded, Mother's Day Orphans Productions, photographing concerts, portraits and promotional material regularly.  Elizabeth covered the 2010 NYC Marathon on assignment for Runner's World and was one of the first photographers on the scene when US Airways Flight 1549 landed on the Hudson River in 2009.  Her image of the airplane later moored at Battery Park City was featured in Communication Arts' Photography Annual 50 that year.
